Product description

3M™ AC-665C12 class C fay surface aerospace sealant is ideal for offering effective barrier against the common causes of corrosion. This product comes in two parts which includes part-A catalyst and part-B base. The liquid part-A catalyst is black in color, while the thixotropic paste part-B base is yellow in color. This slight odored part-A catalyst has a specific gravity of 1.97 and VOC contents of 0 grams per liter. This aromatic odored part-B base has a specific gravity of 1.46 and VOC contents of 53.9 grams per liter. The sealant is supplied in a 2-ounce cartridge and can be mixed in a 100 base/10 catalyst ratio by weight to form a mixed compound. It requires 12 hours for application and will be sufficiently cured after 14 days. The product withstands a service temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. Features: Standard cure rate helps to meet various process demands Efficiently maintains flexibility and bond strength on various metals Employs corrosion inhibiting formula and meets multiple aerospace material specifications Easy to apply using spatula, extrusion gun or injection dispenser Density of 1.97 grams per milliliter for part-A catalyst and 1.46 grams per milliliter for part-B base Viscosity of 2000 to 3500 poise at 77 degrees F for part-B base Withstands a tensile strength of 260 psi Flash point greater than or equal to 200 degrees F Benefits: Sealant offers an excellent resistance to aviation gasoline/jet fuel and chemical/petroleum products commonly used in aircraft industry Suitable for use on most metal substrates including aluminum and between other dissimilar metals Applications: Seals faying surfaces of mating parts Seals joints from passage of liquid or air Prevents corrosion and channeling leakage Specifications: MIL-PRF-81733, Class I, Grade A, Type IV STM 40-112
