The ASA Carbon Monoxide detector is designed to protect the flight crew and passengers by alerting them to the presence of carbon monoxide (CO) in the cockpit. Carbon monoxide is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, or any other fossil fuel. Dangerous levels of CO can result from leaks in aircraft exhaust and heating systems. Exposure to CO may cause sickness, headaches, or even death.
