PURASOLV® EL is the ester of natural L-Lactic Acid, produced by fermentation from carbohydrates and biobased ethanol. It is readily biodegradable and can be considered a ‘green’ solvent. Upon hydrolysis, it is converted to L-Lactic Acid and ethanol, which are found in nature and are generally recognized as safe. The main application of PURASOLV® EL as a solvent for personal care applications is in anhydrous formulations and especially in natural and/or non-acetone nail polish removers.
